Night Caps

Good parenting starts with you. Self care doesn't have to be something

tangible like doing your nails or hair or spending some time away from the kids. No need to spend so much money going out to eat or going away for a weekend. Although all of that sounds wonderful, we can always have some fun from the comfort of our home. Self care for my partner and I involves putting the kids to bed then having a few drinks while listening to some good music. This gives us time to unwind, spend quality time and we're not far from the kids.


We normally have our night caps at least once a month so that we can bond. Whatever way you wish to practice your self care is great, as long as you do it. If you as a parent aren't okay, then how do you expect to care and provide for others. You have to reboot your energy and focus on yourself so you can give your all to your little ones. My kids take everything and more than we can offer. So this time is essential for us.


With our busy schedules and long days, we barely have time to catch our breaths and spend time together without the kids around. Prepare a nice drink, dim the lights and put some good music on THEN ENJOY!
