Morning Routines

Is it just me, or does the time pass too quickly in the mornings?
The start of the day is always interesting with my family. Getting the kids ready, combing their hair and preparing lunches consumes my mornings. Barely having time to put make up on or comb my own hair as we rush out the door trying to leave on time.
My 2 and 3 year old girls wreaking havoc as they walk out the door. My son too tired and very quiet behind his dad. While ME, mom, always rushing putting on my coat, bag in my hand then locking up as we all make our way to the elevator.
Every morning isn't exactly the same routine. However, no matter how early we get up, we are almost always late.
We rush to the car, everyones' strapped in and here we go!
I possess several roles as I sit behind the wheel everyday. From Uber driver, to Magic School Bus or to my personal favorite, Speed Racer. Daddy gets dropped off first at the train station. Then Johan gets dropped off at school. And lastly the girls go to my Mom's. Celine gets dropped off at school by her grandfather later in the morning and Victoria gets to spend the day with grandma. Morning drop offs are always chaotic as the kids fight over who wants to use my phone or who is too cold or too tired.
When all that is through, my last mission is to get to work.
I have always been a morning person even though some may disagree. Although after becoming a parent 8 years ago, every second of the day is unpredictable. As a mother I have energy but sometimes lack patience and one who always wakes up tired, isn't always in the best moods.
I will be honest, most mornings I just want to stay in bed and give everyone a day off. But that doesn't happen often because then I'll end up doing most of the work through out the day since my kids do not understand the concept of having a day off.
What helps me most mornings is picking up a refresher or a nice cold tea to tackle my day. After that the rest is history and by the time I know it, I'm waking up again combing hair and preparing lunch.
It's a blessing and I will always cherish those moments. One thing I learned so far in my journey is that every day is a different lesson learned and I'm always trying to better myself as an adult and as a parent.
